Administrative Assistant

Mass Insight has an immediate opening for a full-time Administrative Assistant. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone interested in learning about education, and economic development initiatives. The ideal candidate is a highly organized self-starter and team player with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The position requires strong organizational and computational skills, as well as outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of paid administrative experience, performing tasks of increasing responsibility in an environment requiring substantial public interaction and service.
  • Proven people skills and a record of successful service to the public.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize among multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Requirements:

Massachusetts Math & Science Initiative

Director of Development

Mass Insight Education and Research Institute, Inc., seeks qualified candidates to fill a new full-time Director of Development position.  The position is available immediately. The Director of Development reports to the President of Mass Insight and is responsible for directing the development efforts for our two major education initiatives: the Mass Math & Science Initiative (MMSI) and School Turnaround Strategies. The Director of Development will be responsible for creating a multi-tiered, $10 million campaign to support our education initiatives.  The Director will build relationships with corporate and individual partners, and will support the Vice President of Development and Operations in building and maintaining strategic partnerships among foundations and higher education institutions.

The Director of Development will:

  • Develop and implement a three year, $10 million development campaign.
  • Identify and secure corporate and individual partners to support our work.
  • Support VP in ensuring that funders, partners, and Board members receive regularly, timely information about our programs.
  • Write and distribute publications for current and prospective funders and partners.
  • Manage our database of partners and funders, and oversee its effective use.
  • Work with content staff across the Education initiatives to ensure that the content on our website is updated weekly.

Competencies/experience required:

  • 8-10 years of major gift experience
  • Demonstrated ability to produce clear, succinct, and highly organized work
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong client service orientation
